Where Are You Located?
We are located just south of the intersection of SW 3rd Street and West MLK Jr. Parkway. Our main entry is on SW 3rd, facing Principal Park. The address of 340 SW 3rd Street in Des Moines puts you at our front door! Our covered patio faces Principal Park, and offers sweeping views of the State Capitol Building as well as the Des Moines skyline. We are just steps away from the Court Avenue District!
What is included in the venue rental?
All rentals include the use of the entire venue space, mezzanine level, private suite, and outdoor covered patio! We also include an initial room set-up and tear-down, in-house: tables, chairs, in-house linens, china, flatware, and glassware. Each client has full access to our in-house sound system, projectors and projection screens, house standard microphones, and Wi-Fi. We also provide an on-site Manager on Duty during your reservation to make each event stress-free!
Is There Parking Available?
The River Center offers a designated gated parking lot for guests to use, less than half a block away! We offer self-parking options, and are happy to quote valet parking as well. We can also provide up to two hours free parking at the adjacent gated lots with ticket validation! Please contact us for additional parking information.
Can I Bring My Own Catering?
One of the biggest perks to hosting your event at the River Center is our in-house kitchen and full staff. Our Chef has provided a full, extensive menu for you to select from, and we can customize for almost any request! We also have our own in-house bakery, Doré Bakery, for all of your dessert needs! We also offer a full bar, and enjoy creating custom cocktails and signature drinks for our clients. We provide full-service events for you and your guests!
Can I Bring In My Own Decorations?
Can I bring in my own decorations? Yes, of course! You are welcome work with decor companies as well! We recommend White Willow Events, Wildflower Events, Honey and Joy, Bella Flora, and many more to help bring your event vision to life!

Can I Bring In My Own Desserts?
While you’re welcome to bring in your own desserts, our on-site bakery, Doré Bakery, is a wonderful addition to any event! Executive Pastry Chef Alix Brower will work to help create the cake and desserts of your dreams! As the head Pastry Chef and creative visionary for Doré Bakery, every one of her creations deliver high-quality, elegantly designed and constructed desserts that are unique, delicious, and memorable.
